No wonder the IITs are the best technical Institues in country, someone tried hacking the IIT Kanpur website and succeeded, couple of times more than expected.
Mid 2007 was first, a seemingly McDonald fan defaced the homepage and “McDonaldified” the site
Seemingly the harmless hack didn’t use any offensive lingo. Though, it was a proof enough how well our IITs secure their websites. The defacement didn’t ring the bells with authorities in charge at IITK.
IIT K today boasts Prabhu Goel Research Centre for Computer and Internet Security. It seems a correlation to the Barber Paradox ( who will shave the barber), given by Bertard Russel.The institute eventually recovered from the attack after 6-7 hours.
This time again, in April 2008, the IITK site sank again.

well, its a shame on the IITs part. People will stop considering them as a role model. Leave apart some research exceptions, They are good at regular studying, and taking up jobs abroad and earn greens for the American biggies
